The future timeline for Core Course Assessment Data Collection:
2019-2020 – Fall 19/Spring 20 Knowledge
2020-2021 – Fall 20/Spring 21 Skills
2021-2022 – Fall 21/ Spring 22 Values
Reports will be due each fall on the last Monday of September. For the 2019/2020 cycle the report is due on the last Monday of September 2020.
We hope that programs will collect data over the course of a year so that data sets are more robust and reflective of student learning. This slower pace will allow time for the CAACs to engage in discussion within their groups and with other CAACs about thorny assessment issues. The groups are gaining meaningful assessment knowledge and we hope this time schedule will provide opportunities to break down our silos and engage in multidisciplinary conversations.
Communication-Spoken and Communication- Written do not have knowledge goals which means they do not have a core assessment obligation for the year for collection of knowledge goals. However, we anticipate that these areas will continue their strong assessment processes and will use the year productively.
We would also like to remind everyone that the Core Council has to authority to approve changes in learning objectives and learning outcomes.
